Churt Post Office

Welcome to our Website

Churt is a village in the Surrey Hills.  The modern village straddles the A287 about halfway between Farnham and Haslemere.  About 2000 people live in Churt in houses quite widely scattered throughout the area.  Churt is one of 18 parishes within Waverley Borough.  We are in the parliamentary constituency of South West Surrey.  Our MP is Jeremy Hunt (2021).

A casual observer could be forgiven for thinking that there’s not much history in Churt!  The village centre mostly consists of a collection of fairly undistinguished early twentieth century buildings with only the school, the church and a handful of stone cottages being any earlier – and these are only Victorian.

But look deeper and you will find a lot more.   Churt does have a history and because the history is ‘hidden’ we think it’s important to preserve it and make it accessible to all through Churt Heritage.
